Pairing / Using Homematic IP Pluggable Switch and Meter with an CCU2

Abstract: In this short HowTo we will walk true the steps needed to connect a Homematic IP Pluggable Switch and Meter (HMIP-PSM / 140666A0A) with an CCU2.

Since the CCU 2 firmware version 2.17.14 it is possible to connect the Homematic IP products with a CCU 2. This allows you then to mix Homematic and Homematic IP components and control both via the CCU 2. As an example this howto will connect a Homematic IP Pluggable Switch and Meter (HMIP-PSM / 140666A0A) with an CCU2. The same steps could be performed for other Homematic IP components.

Preparation:

– Make sure the Homematic CCU2 runs on firmware 2.19.9 or later

– Perform a factory reset (as described here) from the Homematic IP Pluggable Switch and Meter (HMIP-PSM) via a wall mounted power plug (or another power plug) which has power.

Option 1 (Preferred) – Required Steps:

1.) Connect to the WebGUI from the CCU2 with your browser

2.) click on “Teach-in devices”

3.) now plug the device into a power socket. This should automatically enable the teach mode from the device for the first 3min (make sure you have performed a factory reset from the device beforehand)

4.) Now enter the SGTIN and the KEY from the sticker which is in the Homematic IP Pluggable Switch and Meter (HMIP-PSM) box [keep noted you shouldn´t lost the sticker] in the text fields for the SGTIN and KEY from the WebGUI

5.) Once done, click the “Tech-in HmIP devices (local)” button. This will activate the teach in mode from the CCU2 for 60 seconds and the button near the “Tech-in HmIP devices (local)” button should show now a counter.

6.) Now monitor the button Inbox at the bottom. It starts as “Inbox (0)” and once a new device is discovered it will switch to “Inbox (1)”

It might be that you have other messages coming up in your system, so the inbox counter might be different!

7.) Once you see that a new message is in, click on “Inbox (1)”

8.) In the next screen click on “done”

9.) Finished, the device is now connected and can be used.

Option 2 – Required Steps:

1.) Connect to the WebGUI from the CCU2 with your web browser

2.) click on “Teach-in devices”

3.) now plug the device into a power socket. This should automatically enable the teach mode from the device for the first 3min (make sure you have performed a factory reset the device beforehand)

4.) click on the the “Teach-in HmIP device” button

5.) This will activate the teach in mode for 60 seconds on the CCU2. Once running the button near the “Tech-in HmIP devices (local)” button should show a counter

6.) Now monitor the button Inbox at the bottom. It a new device is found a new message will be generated. So for example “Inbox (0)” will switch to “Inbox (1)”.

It might be that you have other messages coming up in your system, so the inbox counter might be different!

7.) Once you see that a new message is in, click on the Inbox button

8.) In the next screen click on “done”

9.) Finished, the device is now connected and can be used.
